For the Discouraged Dreamer

It is easy to get discouraged if you are dreaming big dreams.

But keep going. Keep grinding. Keep hustling.

It matters.

Even if you don’t think it does at this moment–it REALLY matters.

Keep moving forward.

Even if it’s just a small amount.

Small over time turns into big.

What’s something you can do—big or small—to keep moving forward in your dream?

For me, it’s taking the plunge and trying something new — recently, that was opening up direct sales through my website, which meant learning a lot about ecommerce modules and shipping materials and shipping costs and accounting. Because I like collecting hats to wear, apparently. :)

I think the next big leap forward is embracing more video content. I’ve done a few videos of me reciting my poems, but I plan on developing a plan to really step that up.

Good for you Gabriel. We ALL have too many hats don’t we :) haha

There comes Jim again with a little treat from his treat bag. I’ll take it! I’m going to copy this quote and put it in front of me as I write. I always look forward to your posts. What you said

    Thanks Jim

I was interrupted…what you said about small over time turns into big is something I need to be constantly reminded of and apply.

Keep going, that’s my mantra. I love what Seth Godin said recently about purpose in life:
‘You have to find a journey worthy of your heart and your soul.’ Once you do, it’s just like breathing

I need to starting blogging. My goal is 2 per week and I’m already doing everything but blogging! Thank you for reminding me that a post doesn’t have to be long and detailed!

Don’t think there is any “one specific way” to do anything. Otherwise you can’t put your personality into it–and that is what makes you–you.

I need to decide on an URL!

    • http://unknownjim.com/ Jim Woods

I’d recommend just picking something. Otherwise you are pretty much paralyzed by indecision, right?

      • http://organistheidi.blogspot.com/ Heidi Bender

yes, paralyzed. You are right. I just need to pick and then get on with it!

So true! I keep telling that to others, and also reminding myself! :)

    • http://unknownjim.com/ Jim Woods

Absolutely! I think we ALL need this reminder. Especially when you are in the thick of it all and can’t even see what’s ahead.

thanks, jim! i can always count on you, buddy, for a good bit of encouragement. i love this! and i needed to hear it, too. gotta remember to just keep going despite what others say or (more likely) don’t say. the worst thing to do is just quit.

    • http://unknownjim.com/ Jim Woods

You bet. I needed it too. I wrote it for myself too :)
