Less is More.

Less is more.

Okay, right. Whatever.

How does this apply to your dream?

Well, the brain can only handle so much.

I recently listed out ALL I am doing and my “I am doing this now” list was insane.

It’s no wonder I’ve been really tired lately and not sleeping well when it is time to rest.

I have to do less to accomplish more.

I must warn you this is much, much easier said than done.

It means saying no a lot more and pleasing others a lot less.

You might even get some flack from others.

It is not as if I have everything suddenly figured out.

I’m still a work in progress—but aren’t we all?

Do you feel this tension as well? What would you like to focus more attention on?

Hi Jim, I’m back in the ether! I’ve been working like a trojan for months, and in the last few weeks had to avoid social media altogether. I was aiming on the deadline of the Harper Voyager offer (to accept unagented manuscripts) which ended on Sunday. So, without any doubt I need to work less for a little while now, and play more!

I spend too much time helping other writers – too often at the expense of my own work.

totally agree and have experienced. i always try to make life and pursuing my dreams and goals like a sprint, when it’s really all a marathon. slow and steady wins every time.

So true. I frequently use the Pomodoro Technique to get stuff done when I really need to and find it amazing how much less I can actually achieve than I think I can. But equally how much less again I can do when I am just trying to get everything done with no contingent plan. Good luck!
